Rare: A woman in Nghe An gave birth to a baby girl weighing 5.5 kg.

On the afternoon of October 20, Tan Ky District Medical Center announced that the health of the mother Nguyen Thi Huong (33 years old, residing in Nghia Dong commune, Tan Ky district) and her daughter are both stable and can be discharged from the hospital after 3 more days after giving birth.

Previously, after the mother was admitted to the hospital to give birth, the doctors examined and predicted the birth and decided to give birth naturally. This morning, the on-duty team successfully delivered the baby girl, weighing 5.5 kg.

According to Dr. Gian Viet Hop - an officer of the Obstetrics Department, Tan Ky District Medical Center, this was a difficult birth, but thanks to the good coordination of the support team and the good health of the mother, the "delivery" was successful. In cases of large fetuses, the mother is very susceptible to complications such as hemorrhage, complicated soft tissue tears, even uterine rupture, and the fetus is also very vulnerable.

This is Ms. Huong's third child.

This is the third birth of this mother. In the second birth, she also gave birth to a baby weighing 4.8 kg, the first baby weighed 3.8 kg, both by natural birth. During the pregnancy with the third baby, the woman ate mainly fruits and nutritious grains, gaining only about 11 kg in weight, but the third baby weighed 5.5 kg.
