AFP quoted police yesterday as saying that a Japanese pornographic film appeared for 10 minutes on a billboard at a major intersection in Jakarta on September 30, surprising many passersby.
The billboard was later cut off, but drivers still managed to film the sensitive images and share them on social media.
Police launched an investigation and arrested a 24-year-old IT specialist at his office on October 4.
The suspect admitted to being behind the incident and hacking into the electronic system after discovering the name and login password on the billboard.
The man said he acted alone, but police are investigating whether there are other suspects and what their motives were.
He faces charges of distributing obscene material and could face up to six years in prison.
