According to RIA Novosti, in a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is ready to resolve issues with Washington "within the international framework.

"We are ready to resolve the issues between Iran and the United States within the international framework and will never demand anything other than our rights and interests. In this regard, we welcome any help from our friendly and brotherly countries," President Pezeshkian said, as quoted on the website of the Iranian President's Press Office.

Saudi Arabia expressed hope for the early start of negotiations between Iran and the US. This would help ease the concerns of all parties.

Crown Prince Bin Salman also said that he hoped there would not be any incidents that could lead to new clashes between Israel and Iran.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post quoted a senior White House official as saying that US President Donald Trump, in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said that Washington would no longer use its military to help Israel in its conflict with Iran.

According to the source, the US leader told the Israeli Prime Minister that the US military "did what was necessary." Prime Minister Netanyahu was not satisfied with this statement, however, realizing that Mr. Trump "wanted to see a turning point towards diplomacy," he agreed to a ceasefire.

In addition, according to the source, after the US attacked Iran's nuclear facilities and announced its success, President Trump ordered his special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to continue contacting the Iranian side. Immediately after, special envoy Witkoff had a conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi and called on Tehran to return to the negotiating table.

On the night of June 13, Israel launched a campaign against Iran, accusing it of carrying out a secret military nuclear program. Iran denied the accusations and responded with attacks.

The two sides fought for 12 days, during which the US also joined in and carried out a one-off attack on Iran's nuclear facilities on the night of June 22. Then, on the evening of June 23, Tehran launched missile attacks on the US Al-Udeid base in Qatar, and declared that Iran had no intention of escalating further.

US President Donald Trump later expressed hope that a path to peace and harmony in the Middle East was possible. He also said that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire, which after 24 hours would become "the official end of the 12-day war".
