The man who raped and blinded a female student just released from prison committed rape.
Both rapes that Do Van Thong committed had the same trick: pretending to be a good person and taking the victim home but taking her to a deserted place to commit the depraved act.
On October 29, La Gi Town Police (Binh Thuan) said they are consolidating records to prosecute Do Van Thong for two crimes of rape and intentional infliction of injury according to the law.
According to records, Do Van Thong had just been released from prison for rape.

Previously, in April 2015, Thong and a group of young men and women were drinking in Tan Nghia town, including the victim N. (19 years old). At about 9:30 p.m. the same day, N. stood up to say goodbye to everyone at the table and walked home.
Because of his previous bad intentions, Thong started a fight with the people at the drinking table for no reason and then started his car to offer to take N. home. However, Thong did not take N. home but sped up to Bay Map mountain road, in Tan Nghia town (Ham Tan).
Here, Thong used force to control N. to commit depraved acts. However, the victim reacted strongly and tried to run away, but Thong caught up with her, beat her, and threatened her to commit depraved acts.
That same night, the victim N. and her family went to the Ham Tan District Police to file a complaint. The next morning, Thong turned himself in to the police and was later convicted and just released from prison.
On October 19, using the same trick, he offered to take V. (15 years old), a 10th grade student home. However, when he arrived at V.'s house, Thong sped up towards La Gi town even though V. screamed and called for help, but because it was raining and the road was deserted, no one could hear.
When the car reached the entrance to Tan Tao cemetery (Tan An ward, La Gi town), Thong drove the car into an empty lot and used force to control the victim, intending to commit a lewd act, but V. fiercely resisted. After repeatedly punching and kicking the victim to control her but failing, the young man picked up a rock and repeatedly hit V. in the left eye.then got in the car and drove away.
The victim had to crawl out onto the street to call for help and was discovered by locals and taken to La Gi Regional General Hospital. Afterwards, baby V. was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) but due to the severity of the injury, doctors had to remove baby V.'s left eye.
After nearly a week of investigation, extracting camera footage, and verifying thousands of license plates, on October 27, La Gi town police arrested Thong and he confessed.
