Opening of VTV Resident Agency Office in Los Angeles

On the morning of April 23, Vietnam time, Vietnam Television (VTV) officially opened the VTV Resident Office in Los Angeles, California, USA.

The VTV Resident Office in Los Angeles is responsible for promptly reporting on economic, social and cultural events in the West Coast of the United States, helping Vietnamese people in the country fully grasp news and events, contributing to enhancing understanding between the people of the two countries and promoting cooperation opportunities.

In addition, the VTV Resident Office in Los Angeles also has the task of being an information bridge between the Vietnamese community living in the US and the people in the country, contributing to connecting and building the great national unity bloc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Binh Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of Vietnam Television emphasized that the establishment of the VTV Resident Office in Los Angeles stems from the desire to update more news of the Vietnamese community in the US and economic, cultural and social information in the economic center of the US, contributing to strengthening economic and cultural cooperation between the people of the two countries."

Also at the ceremony, Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco Ho Xuan Son pointed out that California is the economic locomotive of the entire western region of the United States, an important gateway for trade, investment, and import between the United States and other countries and territories around the world, and has an extremely important position in the relationship between Vietnam and the United States.

The number of Vietnamese students here accounts for more than 30% of the total number of Vietnamese students in the United States. This is also where the largest Vietnamese community in the United States is concentrated, with nearly 700,000 people, accounting for more than 1/3 of the number of overseas Vietnamese in the United States. Therefore, the establishment of VTV's permanent office here is necessary, serving as an important bridge between Vietnam and the Western United States in general and the state of California in particular.

VTV's California office not only provides timely information on investment and trade between the two sides, but also helps connect the Vietnamese community here with people in the country.

In addition, VTV's presence here will also contribute to cultural and linguistic exchange, helping to maintain and develop the Vietnamese cultural identity of the Vietnamese community in the US, helping the governments and people of the two countries have a more comprehensive and in-depth view of the country and people of each side.
