According to Dr. Hai, Ky Son District Medical Center, the girl Vu Y X. was brought to the doctor by her family when her eyes showed signs of pain and itching. Upon examination, a small leech was found attached to the bottom of her right eye.
“Fortunately, this leech had only just crawled into the patient’s eye, so it was easy to remove. There have been many cases where it crawled into the nose, sucked a lot of blood, and lived for months, making it very difficult to remove,” said Dr. Hai.
