(Baonghean.vn) - The entire project worth more than 700 million VND was initiated by the Vietnam Education Trade Union and received support from the Education Trade Unions of many localities and a part of the funding was matched by the People's Committee of Ky Son district.

Nearly a year ago, due to the consequences of storms No. 3 and No. 4 causing floods, many schools in Ky Son district were severely affected.

At Muong Ai Primary School (a school located in the border area, adjacent to Xieng Khouang province - Lao People's Democratic Republic), the flood swept away the entire administrative building and many books and school supplies of teachers and students.

In order to promptly support teachers and students of Muong Tip Primary School, construction of the public housing project began in May 2019. Up to now, the project has been completed with a spacious 3-room residential building and an auxiliary building.

At the inauguration ceremony of the teachers' housing at Muong Ai Primary School, Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union Nguyen Ngoc An shared the difficulties that teachers in the mountainous region of Nghe An are facing.

Through this program, the Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union also affirmed that in the coming time, the industry trade union will continue to pay attention and select schools with many difficulties to support. In addition, he also hopes that the Nghe An Education Trade Union will proactively connect with trade unions of universities and other education sectors to have more meaningful and practical projects. From there, it will help teachers and workers feel secure in their work and stick with the education career in the highlands.

On the side of Nghe An province, comrade Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training also expressed his gratitude and pledged to direct schools and localities to effectively use and promote public housing projects to make them more beautiful and spacious.

In addition, teachers are also required to accept this project with determination and responsibility. From there, they will continue to strive to overcome difficulties, cultivate ethics, improve their professional skills to do a good job of teaching and educating people in the highlands.

At the ceremony, in addition to the public housing project, the Vietnam Education Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Education Trade Union presented many meaningful gifts to Muong Ai Primary School.

On this occasion, Vietnam Education Publishing House also donated 270 sets of textbooks for all students of the school.

Muong Ai Primary School is the most disadvantaged school in Ky Son district, nearly 40 km from the district center and the road is especially difficult, mainly rudimentary. The school currently has 36 staff, teachers and 275 students.

In addition to the main school, the school has 6 satellite schools, the farthest of which is Ai Khe school, nearly 15 kilometers from the main school. The students here are mainly Mong, Thai and Kho Mu ethnic people.
