When will the Russian army be equipped with modernized Tu-95MSM aircraft?
The first modernized Tu-95MSM strategic bomber is expected to enter service in 2018, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko said on Thursday.

"Today discussed the issues of modernization of Tu-95MSinto the Tu-95MSM version. A state contract has been signed for this aircraft, and the first aircraft will enter service with the army this year," he told reporters during a visit to the Taganrog Beriev Aviation Research Complex.
As explained in the Ministry of Defense, within the framework of deep modernization, the Tu-95MS aircraft was supplied with engines, equipment and propellers with more improved characteristics, equipped with on-board electronics and weapons control systems "with an expanded list of weapons".
