Launching Vietnam - Europe railway line
The first railway transport corridor Vietnam-China-Kazakhstan-Europe has just been put into operation, the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
For the first time, goods are being transported from the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, via the Vietnamese Dong Dang border railway station on the territory of the People's Republic of China, where the containers will be loaded and sent to Europe, then transit through Kazakhstan and on to Duisburg, Germany.

The total transit time via the above route is 22 days, of which two days the train travels from Vietnam to China. The upcoming phase is expected to reduce the delivery time from Vietnam to Europe to only 19 days. According to the "General Department of Vietnam Railways", this year the volume of transported goods will increase significantly.
It is expected that the transit transport corridor along the Vietnam-China-Kazakhstan-Europe route will help reduce the transport of goods from Vietnam and ASEAN countries to Europe and will generally be a good alternative to traditional sea transport options.
