Prosecution and temporary detention of drunk driver causing multiple accidents
The Investigation Police Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and execute an arrest warrant to detain Pham Cao Tri to investigate the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation".
On November 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Thu Duc City Police (Ho Chi Minh City) issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and execute an order to temporarily detain Pham Cao Tri (39 years old, residing in District 8, currently residing in Thu Duc) to investigate the crime of "Violation of traffic regulations"under Article 260 of the 2015 Penal Code. The above decisions and orders have been approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.
According to the investigation, at 4:35 p.m. on November 12, Tri used alcohol (blood alcohol concentration was 188.8 mg/100 ml of blood, exceeding the maximum limit) to drive car 51K-020.07, carrying 4 friends on Nguyen Van Tang Street, in the direction from Go Cong intersection to My Thanh intersection. When approaching the intersection with Road 15, Long Thanh My Ward, Thu Duc City, Tri drove the car to the left of the opposite lane, colliding with two cars. Due to panic, Tri stepped on the gas pedal and continued to crash into 3 motorbikes that were traveling and stopped on the sidewalk.
The 51K-020.07 car only stopped when it crashed into a residential wall. The accident resulted in the death of Ms. TTYN (18 years old, riding a motorbike); two others were injured and had to be hospitalized. During the investigation, Tri confessed to the entire incident related to the accident as well as his criminal behavior. The case is being investigated and handled according to regulations.
