Traffic police lieutenant prosecuted for shooting, killing one person
On January 15, Dong Nai People's Procuracy announced that it had approved the decision to prosecute Nguyen Tan Phuoc (39 years old, residing in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) to investigate the act of murder.
According to initial investigation, Nguyen Tan Phuoc is a traffic police lieutenant, working at the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police.

Phuoc had a relationship with a woman named Trang. In early January, Ms. Trang complained that her 18-year-old daughter had recently had a relationship with Bui Viet Hai (30 years old, from Hai Phong) and that he often seduced her and took her to bars. At the same time, Ms. Trang also asked Phuoc to intervene so that her daughter would not continue having a relationship with Hai.
On the afternoon of January 6, Phuoc knew that Hai was staying in residential area 6 (Trung Dung ward, Bien Hoa city), so he drove his motorbike to find this person.
When entering the room, Lieutenant Phuoc asked Hai about Ms. Trang's daughter, and the two sides argued. At this time, the traffic police lieutenant took a gun and hit Hai on the cheek, causing the bullet to explode and go through the victim's head.
The victim was then taken to the hospital by local people for emergency treatment but died at 4am the next morning.
As for Phuoc, after committing the crime, he drove his motorbike away from the scene and at 1:00 a.m. on January 7, he turned himself in to the Dong Nai Police investigation agency and confessed his actions.
The police then seized the Rulo gun and 5 bullets believed to have been used by the lieutenant to commit the crime to serve the investigation and clarify the origin.
