The People's Committee of Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai) has just announced that the Code of Conduct for tourism activities on the island has been issued.
The code of conduct stipulates what people, tourists and tourism service businesses on Ly Son Island should and should not do, aiming to build a civilized, friendly tourism environment in harmony with the environment, relics and local culture.

For the people, the Ly Son district government recommends behaving according to the motto: "Every Ly Son resident is a tourism ambassador".
People need to maintain a friendly attitude, not solicit tourists, not take advantage of local knowledge to scam tourists, make illegal profits, limit the use of plastic bags, not litter, and not buy and sell wild and rare animals.
For tourists, authorities recommend following civilized rules such as queuing, not jostling, or pushing. Authorities also require tourists to wear appropriate clothing when traveling, wear formal attire at places of worship and festivals, and not show excessive affection in public or sacred places.
In addition, the island district government also requires tourists to control their alcohol consumption when eating and drinking at restaurants.
For tourism businesses and tour guides. The code of conduct requires being ready with polite phrases such as Hello, Sorry, Please, Thank you, Excuse me... always smiling, and being gentle in communication.

In addition, businesses must apply the same price for domestic and international tourists, not dumping prices or taking advantage of crowded conditions to increase prices. In particular, businesses are required not to let foreigners take advantage of "hiding behind" to conduct illegal business.
The code is expected to be implemented in the fourth quarter of this year. Posters and leaflets will be distributed to tourists on the Sa Ky - Ly Son high-speed boats. At the same time, residents and hotels will sign a commitment to comply with this code.
As the country’s outpost island, Ly Son is known for its many beautiful landscapes and is the homeland of the Hoang Sa Fleet. In recent years, the number of tourists to the island has increased dramatically.In 2016, Ly Son Island welcomed 165,000 tourists, an increase of 37.5 times compared to 2010 and 20 times compared to 2013. In the 8 months since the beginning of this year, the island continued to welcome 210,000 tourists.
