Land recovered from Van Xuan University of Technology put up for auction
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan to auction the right to use land plots and land lots assigned to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center for management and exploitation in the province in 2025, including the land recovered from the Van Xuan University of Technology Project.
Specifically, in Plan 123/KH-UBND issued on February 26, 2025, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to organize auctions of land use rights for 16 land plots, with a total area of about 52.74 hectares.
Among these 16 plots of land, the most notable is a plot of land measuring 366,099.1 square meters.2(about 36.6ha) recovered from the Van Xuan University of Technology Project, in Nghi Huong Ward (old Cua Lo Town), now Vinh City. This land was recovered by the People's Committee of Nghe An Province in Decision No. 466/QD-UBND dated October 12, 2022.
The reason for the revocation is that the Van Xuan University of Technology Project has been behind schedule, a large area of land has been abandoned, causing waste, causing public outrage and was reflected by Nghe An Newspaper through articles "Dozens of hectares of abandoned land at Van Xuan University of Technology”;“How will the more than 41.53 hectares of “golden land” at Van Xuan University be handled?”…
Through inspection, this project also violated the Land Law and Investment Law according to the Conclusion of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatches: No. 5878/UBNDCN dated August 4, 2022 and No. 7560/UBND-CN dated September 30, 2022.
Also according to Plan 123, the Provincial People's Committee requires that the organization of land use rights auctions must comply with the principles of legal regulations; be public and transparent; consider detecting and proposing strict handling of cases of law violations, and prevent acts of taking advantage of land use rights auctions to disrupt the real estate market and make illegal profits.
Land plots and land lots put up for auction of land use rights must fully satisfy the auction conditions as prescribed by the Land Law and other relevant laws.
