Picturesque po mu forest in western Nghe An
With a large space, cool and pristine climate, the po mu forest in Tay Son commune (Ky Son) is an interesting destination for those who want to immerse themselves in nature.
Tay Son Commune is located about 12 km from Muong Xen town, at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level, so the climate here is cool all year round. Thanks to that typical climate, this land possesses many specialties and rare beautiful landscapes with traditional sa mu roofs and fruits such as peaches, plums, persimmons, wild pears...

In particular, located in Huoi Giang 1,2,3 villages, there is also a po mu forest of dozens of hectares, as beautiful as a painting, which makes many people excited.

According to Mr. Vu Ra Tenh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Tay Son commune, this po mu forest was formed more than 30 years ago. "At that time, my father and other villagers went to the forest to find seeds and saplings to plant and preserve because they were afraid that too much logging would deplete the po mu wood. After that, from father to son, they continued to plant and protect each other to have a nearly 50-hectare po mu forest like today," Mr. Ra Tenh shared.
Each po mu tree here is now nearly ten meters high, with a vertical base diameter of over 30 cm. The entrance to the forest has now been paved and cleared by local people, creating an attractive tourist destination for visitors from within and outside the district.

“Coming here, I not only get to immerse myself in the pristine and cool nature, completely different from the heat outside, but also get to wear the clothes of the Mong girls imbued with the highland identity. If other tourism services are invested in synchronously, this place will certainly not be inferior to other famous eco-tourism destinations,” said Ms. Lo Thuy, a tourist from Tuong Duong district.

On hot summer days, people from the villages around Tay Son commune in particular and neighboring communes of Ky Son district in general often come here to cool off. This is truly a new destination for those who love to travel and immerse themselves in fresh nature.
