In order to raise awareness among the people about environmental sanitation and disease prevention for livestock, Huu Lap commune mobilized people to move all their buffalo and cow barns out of residential areas. After the commune and village authorities organized a meeting and arranged suitable land areas for barns, local buffalo, cow, pig and goat farmers took turns building barns to move their livestock there.

Planning concentrated barn areas outside residential areas, in addition to protecting the environment, also contributes to better control and vaccination of livestock.

In order to gradually eliminate spontaneous livestock farming, which causes many negative impacts on the environment, Ky Son district has also implemented a plan and directed communes to build zoning-style livestock farming and barns far from residential areas. Currently, the whole district has over 60 thousand buffaloes, cows, goats, and 35 thousand pigs. Moving buffaloes and cows out of residential areas has significantly improved the village environment and raised the quality of life of the people. On the other hand, thanks to centralized planning, the buffalo and cow herds are controlled and fully vaccinated, with the vaccination rate reaching 85-90% each period.
