Kiev declares signs of losing control over Crimea border area
Some areas bordering Crimea show "signs of loss of state control," the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine on the peninsula, Boris Babin, said in an interview with the Observer news portal.

According to him, large organized crime groups have appeared in the border area, carrying out an "anti-Ukrainian campaign" that is heating up the situation.
"The current situation, although not yet military, is considered unsafe. At the local level, the police and the authorities are having a hard time dealing with this situation. I am sure that our intelligence agencies and the central government are working. But the Ukrainian people need to know about this issue..." - Mr. Babin said.
Mr. Babin is concerned that Russia could take advantage of the situation to gain control of the region.
