Timely support for employees whose working hours are reduced or whose labor contracts are terminated
(Baonghean.vn) - Many opinions have been given to improve support for union members and workers whose working hours have been reduced or whose labor contracts have been terminated due to businesses cutting or reducing orders.
On the afternoon of September 7, the Provincial Labor Federation held a Conference to deploy the Guidelines for amending and supplementing Decision 6696/QD-TLĐ onsupport union members, workers have their working hours reduced, their labor contracts terminated due to the business cutting or reducing orders.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Federation of Labor; Committees of the Provincial Federation of Labor; district and industry trade unions and grassroots trade unions at a number of large enterprises.
The conference aims to implement the directives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Conclusion No. 02/KL-DCT dated August 25, 2023 and Decision No. 7785/QD-TLĐ dated August 25, 2023 on continuing to support union members and employees whose working hours are reduced or whose labor contracts are terminated due to the reduction of orders by enterprises. At the same time, guide the District and Industry Labor Federations and a number of enterprises with a large number of workers on continuing to support union members and employees whose working hours are reduced or whose labor contracts are terminated due to the reduction of orders by enterprises.

Accordingly, based on Instruction No. 02/HD-LĐLĐ, the subjects receiving support are union members and employees whose working time is reduced or suspended; union members and employees whose labor contracts are temporarily suspended or who are on unpaid leave; union members and employees whose labor contracts are terminated but who are not eligible for unemployment benefits.
The conference received many comments to perfect the revised Guidelines, ensuring objectivity, science and the purpose of supporting union members and workers.
Before March 31, 2023, the Provincial Labor Federation provided support to 513 people with an amount of VND 541.7 million. After March 31, 2023, the Provincial Labor Federation received 2,024 more applications from 6 district and industry unions. Of which, 1,428 people were subject to reduced working hours, and 1,428 people were subject to temporary work.postponement of employment contractis 596 people. If the records are qualified, the total expected support amount in the coming time is 2.62 billion VND.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Chi Cong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged the serious working spirit of the delegates. Faced with the large number of backlogs, he requested district and industry unions to review and appraise the files responsibly, re-examine the payment at the grassroots unions, and actively promote this policy, and promptly pay workers immediately after receiving the support money from the Provincial Labor Federation./.
