Signing product consumption contract: Progress of OCOP Nghe An products
(Baonghean.vn) - Through the annual conference on trade promotion and connecting product consumption in the collective economic sector and cooperatives, many units and cooperatives in Nghe An have had the opportunity to introduce and sign product consumption contracts with units outside the province.
Increase production capacity
At the end of August, at the ConferenceTrade promotion, product consumption connectionCollective economy, cooperatives (HTX) in 2023, organized by the Provincial Cooperative Union, hundreds of OCOP star products in the province and 13 other provinces and cities across the country are displayed and promoted at the booth area on Phan Dang Luu Street (Vinh City).

Not only promoting products, but more meaningfully at this event, many cooperatives in the areaNghe Ansigned a product consumption contract with cooperatives outside the province. In particular, Phu Quy Medicinal Materials Cooperative (Thai Hoa town) signed a product consumption contract with Nam Viet Cooperative in Hai Phong city.
Ms. Nguyen Dieu Thuy - representative of Phu Quy Medicinal Herbs Cooperative said: "After the trade promotion conferences, connecting supply and demand in previous years, our Cooperative signed contracts to consume products with 1-2 Cooperatives outside the province and the partners all cooperated actively and effectively. Therefore, up to now, products made from turmeric starch of the Cooperative are present in many provinces and cities: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Da Nang... Among them, many units have regularly connected and the consumption of products is very positive; creating opportunities for our Cooperative to improve its operational capacity, expand the market, and increase responsibility for product quality".
Mr. Pham Kim Tien - representative of Sen Que Bac Agricultural Cooperative said that many years ago, the Cooperative signed contracts to purchase products with many units outside the province. However, the important issue is how the two sides cooperate after each signing. In any case, this is an opportunity for the Cooperative's products to expand the consumption market, creating conditions for customers from many places to access their products. Previously, the Cooperative had signed contracts with a number of Cooperatives outside the province, showing that most of the partners are responsible and cooperate regularly.

“If there were no trade promotion conferences and agricultural product consumption connections like this, it would be very difficult for the cooperative to swim on its own and find markets on its own. However, the more important issue is that the cooperative must ensure the quality of products that have achieved 3 OCOP stars at the provincial level or higher,” Mr. Pham Kim Tien shared.
According to information from the Provincial Cooperative Union, at the Conference on Trade Promotion and Connection of Consumption of Products in the Collective Economic Sector and Cooperatives in 2023 that took place recently, in addition to 7 units signing cooperation agreements, there were also 3 cooperatives in Nghe An signing consumption agreements with 3 cooperatives outside the province.
It is known that from 2020 to present, the Provincial Cooperative Union has organized many trade promotion activities for cooperatives to research the market, promote products, connect and sign consumption contracts in many provinces and cities across the country, such as: Hanoi, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Ha Tinh... Thanks to that, many products of cooperatives in Nghe An have had a stable consumption market in the provinces, such as turmeric starch, ginger, Solanum procumbens tea, veal ham...
Promote market research

To date, the province has 403 products recognized as meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher, of which 170 products are from cooperatives and cooperative groups. The activities of cooperatives, cooperative groups and enterprises not only contribute significantly to job creation and income improvement for workers, but also actively contribute to accelerating the industrialization and rural development progress in the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee are very interested in directing the strengthening of trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 550 dated September 13, 2019 to implement the trade promotion program associated with the Nghe An province's cooperative economic forum for the period 2020 - 2025.
In recent years, the Provincial Cooperative Union has proactively implemented many activities, integrated support programs, and concretized the policies of the Central and the province to build production cooperatives according to the value chain, focusing on consulting on production models, connecting raw material areas, and product consumption; Supporting the building of product brands; Organizing for cooperatives and member units with products and goods to participate in promotion, search for markets, and partners at trade promotion and cooperative technology fairs organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Union and the provinces.

Since then, many cooperatives, enterprises, cooperative groups, and craft villages in the province have boldly invested in technological lines, applied scientific and technological advances to production and processing processes, creating many valuable and high-quality products that have been widely accepted by customers.
The production and consumption of the cooperative's main products have been linked to the local key products, typically rice, mushrooms, medicinal products, vegetables, fruits, aquatic products, freshwater, etc. The new cooperative model has promoted the potential and strengths of localities with highly competitive main products, gradually meeting market needs such as: livestock and poultry farming; aquaculture; safe agricultural production.../.
In addition to the achieved results, the actual number of products of cooperatives, cooperatives, craft villages and enterprises in Nghe An in the domestic market is still small compared to the potential, the designs and models are not diverse and rich. The number of cooperative products certified to meet OCOP standards is not much. The linkage between enterprises and cooperatives has not brought high efficiency and is not stable. The products of agricultural cooperatives are still low in competitiveness... From the above reality, it is necessary to continue to innovate and further strengthen trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand.
