Disciplined 15 officials involved in the case of destroying protective forests

Regarding the destruction of Ia Rsai protective forest, Krong Pa district (Gia Lai), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Gia Lai province issued Notice No. 07/TB-SNN on disciplinary action against 15 officials who violated forest protection management and illegal transportation of forest products.

Specifically, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Gia Lai province has issued a disciplinary decision in the form of demotion against Mr. Nguyen Dinh Son, Head of Ia Rsai Protective Forest Management Board, for failing to fulfill his management and operation tasks in forest protection management, and failing to inspect and supervise the transportation of personal timber, leading to serious consequences; disciplinary action in the form of warning against Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy Head of Ia Rsai Protective Forest Management Board, and disciplinary reprimand for six officials of Ia Rsai Protective Forest Management Board for not doing a good job in forest protection management in the assigned management area.

On the side of the Krong Pa District Forest Protection Department, seriously review, criticize and learn from experience and transfer Head of the Department Bui Duc Viet to work at the Provincial Forest Protection Department; review, criticize and learn from experience for Deputy Head of the Department Truong Thanh Ha and four forest rangers in charge of the areas of Chu Rcam and Ia Rsai communes; review and reprimand a forest ranger in charge of Ia Hdreh commune for allowing 22 cases of deforestation in the area with a damaged area of ​​nearly 18 hectares.

As reported, in mid-December 2015, in sub-areas 1320, 1321, 1324, 1327, 1325, 1307 of Ia Rsai protective forest, Krong Pa district, illegal logging and transportation of forest products occurred. It is worth mentioning that the illegal transportation of forest products blatantly bypassed the Forest Protection Management Stations and especially the headquarters of the Ia Rsai Protective Forest Management Board.

Also during this time, the Krong Pa District Forest Protection Department seized a truck with license plate 78K-2566 carrying nearly 160 wooden boxes with a volume of nearly 10m3, including various types of rosewood, star anise, and yellow cottonwood, in the Quynh 3 hamlet, Chu Rcam commune. Head of the Ia Rsai Protective Forest Management Board Nguyen Dinh Son admitted that the wood belonged to him.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered that only 4,555m3 of wood matched the documents, the remaining volume had the wrong type of documents./.
