Discipline 2 commune chairmen for wrongdoing
On June 2, Mr. Truong Tan Mau - Secretary of Hon Dat District Party Committee (Kien Giang province) - said that he would discipline two commune chairmen who made mistakes and then promote them both.
On June 2, Mr. Truong Tan Mau - Secretary of Hon Dat District Party Committee (Kien Giang Province) - said that the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee had received and processed information reflecting the story of Mr. Pham Van Ly and Mr. Cam Anh Dung, both former Chairmen of the People's Committee of Binh Giang Commune (Hon Dat District) - who did wrong but were still elected to the Executive Committee by the District Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term.
Specifically, from 2010 to the end of 2014, the People's Committee of Binh Giang commune signed contracts to sell 91 plots of land on the T5 residential route to 61 individuals, collecting a total of 685 million VND out of a total of 1.555 billion VND. Of which, Mr. Pham Van Ly signed 11 contracts to sell 17 plots and collected 250 million VND. Mr. Cam Anh Dung signed 50 contracts to sell 74 plots and collected 435 million VND.
The Binh Giang Commune People's Committee printed a receipt for the collected VND685 million and kept VND260.5 million for spending, not submitting it to the treasury. Of which, Mr. Pham Van Ly spent VND19.351 million and Mr. Cam Anh Dung spent VND241.149 million.
Despite such violations, the inspection conclusion only recommended a review and experience review for Mr. Pham Van Ly and Mr. Cam Anh Dung. Mr. Ly has now been promoted to the position of District Party Committee member and Chairman of the District Labor Federation, while Mr. Dung is currently a District Party Committee member and Deputy Head of the Organization Board of the Hon Dat District Party Committee.
According to Mr. Truong Tan Mau, the Standing Committee of Hon Dat District Party Committee has directed the Party cell where Mr. Ly and Mr. Dung work to conduct a review at the nearest meeting. The review results will be reported to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for consideration.
