Commemorating Uncle Ho's second visit to Hung Temple
(Baonghean.vn) - Hung Temple is a particularly important relic site. During his career, President Ho visited this relic site twice.
First time:
On September 19, 1954, after the historic Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the world and shook the world", before returning to take over the capital Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh chose Hung Temple as the place to meet and talk with cadres of the Vanguard Army Corps (Division 308 - Vietnam People's Army).

It is no coincidence that in the special historical circumstances, taking over the capital is a new task for our Government and army, of great significance to the people of the South and public opinion around the world. Uncle Ho chose to visit Hung Temple, a special historical relic of the nation. Hung Temple is a place where every Vietnamese person, when referring to their origins, always uses the image of "descendants of the Dragon and Fairy" "Descendants of Lac and Hong"; considering it a source of pride for the sacred soul of the mountains and rivers, for the quintessence and race of their people.
Here, Uncle Ho instructed the cadres and soldiers who took over the capital to maintain strict discipline, maintain order and security, protect the lives and property of the people, and fight against all acts of sabotage by the enemy. They must protect industry and commerce, including that of foreigners. The soldiers must help the people, propagate and explain to the people, and must not do anything to annoy the people, so that from the elderly to the children, everyone will love and trust them. Maintain the qualities of revolutionary soldiers. Do not fall into or imitate bad lifestyles. Cadres must be exemplary, close to soldiers, and unite and love one another.

Uncle Ho talked about the situation and tasks in the new revolutionary period. He reminded the army not to relax their guns because of peace. As long as the empire in the South is still there, we still have to build the North and liberate the South. The task of building and protecting the Fatherland is still very heavy. He said: "The Hung Kings have the merit of building the country, Uncle and I must work together to protect the country."
The words that Uncle Ho uttered at Hung Temple became a sacred proclamation of the country, resounding in the hearts of every Vietnamese person in every region, in every generation. Uncle Ho's advice was not only addressed to the 308th Division but also to the entire army and people, not only to the generation of that day, the generation of today but also to future generations. A word that resonates forever, forever with descendants.
Second time
On August 19, 1962, President Ho Chi Minh visited Hung Temple when the country was divided. The North was restoring economic development, building socialism, and was a solid rear base supporting the Southern revolution in the struggle for national liberation.
