Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Ha Tinh

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh had special feelings for Ha Tinh province. He always followed every step of the Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh.

On the morning of June 11, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ha Tinh province held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Ha Tinh (June 15, 1957 - June 15, 2017), and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Ha Tinh city (May 20, 2007 - May 20, 2017).

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member - Secretary of the Party Central Committee - Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu, General Director of VTV Nguyen The Ky and leaders of a number of Central Committees, Ministries and branches.

Also attending the ceremony were former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung. President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Pham Minh Chinh and General Ngo Xuan Lich - Minister of National Defense sent congratulatory flower baskets.

On June 15, 1957, in the midst of the country's difficulties, he visited and worked with the Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh.

Talking to the people and cadres of the province, Uncle Ho always reminded them to promote the spirit of solidarity, boost production, uphold labor discipline, improve the sense of responsibility, practice thrift, fight against corruption and waste; promote the fighting spirit in grassroots Party organizations, well implement the self-criticism and criticism regime; build good customs and traditions, maintain security and order...

Uncle Ho both reminded and wished that "Ha Tinh must make the situation stand out". His teachings were not only his deep concern and extremely precious feelings for the Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh, but also a guideline for the province in the process of building and protecting the homeland and country.

Taking Uncle Ho's teachings to heart, after more than 30 years of implementing the renovation policy and 25 years of re-establishing the province, the Party Committee, army and people of Ha Tinh have united, strived, overcome all difficulties and challenges, promoted industrialization and modernization, gradually brought Ha Tinh out of poverty, and rose to stand shoulder to shoulder with other localities in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated the great and important achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh province have achieved during 60 years of implementing Uncle Ho's teachings.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that in order to contribute to the successful implementation of the industrialization and modernization cause of the whole country, the Party Committee, government and people of Ha Tinh province need to promote the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, effectively exploit the potential, advantages of the locality and resources for rapid and sustainable development.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Ha Tinh should focus on innovating the Party's leadership methods, building a strong political system at all levels, improving the capacity and effectiveness of management and administration, promoting administrative reform, implementing democracy regulations at the grassroots level, building an honest government apparatus at all levels, wholeheartedly serving the people.

Ha Tinh needs to effectively implement Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (12th tenure) on strengthening Party building and rectification in conjunction with Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the Central Government highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Ha Tinh province in focusing on solving the marine environmental incident, proactively proposing many solutions to the Central Government to remove difficulties and ensure livelihoods for the people. In the coming time, Ha Tinh needs to continue to coordinate with ministries and branches to review, evaluate and strictly control the activities of Formosa Company, as well as other industrial establishments, promptly complete compensation, support for damages, stabilize people's lives and develop production.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue also requested Ha Tinh to continue paying attention to planning and developing regional economy and marine economy, focusing on planning and developing tourism in the direction of exploiting the potential and comparative advantages of the province associated with eco-tourism, historical, cultural and spiritual tourism.

Ensuring national defense and security, focusing on building a "people's hearts and minds" position closely linked with the tasks of economic, cultural and social development in localities.
