Celebrating 70 years of Traditional Day of the Records and Archives Industry
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 28, the Provincial Department of Records and Archives held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the archives industry's tradition (January 3, 1946 - January 3, 2016).
Attending were comrades Cao Thi Hien, member of the Provincial Standing Committee.-Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors and districts, cities and towns.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 70-year tradition of building and developing the Vietnamese archives sector; affirmed the special role and value of archival documents in the work of building and defending the Fatherland as well as building, developing and modernizing the state administration at all levels.
Along with the national archives sector, state management of the field of documents and archives has gradually been specified through documents such as the Planning of the Nghe An archives sector to 2020, with a vision to 2030; the project to adjust the backlog of provincial documents in the period 2011 - 2015; the project to build a database of historical archives of Nghe An province, period 2014 - 2020...

These are the foundations, creating a complete legal corridor for the Nghe An archives sector to operate effectively, contributing positively to the development of the province. In addition to reviewing the traditions as well as the contributions of the Nghe An archives sector to the development of the country and the province, generations of cadres and civil servants working in the field of documents and archives also shared some shortcomings and difficulties that need to be overcome to ensure that this work continues to make worthy contributions to the development of the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised the efforts of Nghe An archives sector in recent times.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also said that, in response to the development requirements as well as the increasing demands for archival work, the requirement for the Nghe An archives sector is to continue to perform well the state management work in the field of documents and archives; perfect the system of legal documents to comprehensively regulate these activities.
Promote the application of information technology in leadership, direction as well as in professional and technical activities. Build a team of cadres and civil servants doing clerical and archival work with political qualities, ethics, high professionalism, basic skills, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 groups and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in document and archive activities; 25 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Department of Home Affairs. The Department of Home Affairs also awarded prizes to individuals who won prizes in the contest to learn about the 70-year tradition of the document and archive sector.
