New expectations of Ky Son farmers
(Baonghean) - The first batch of over 1,000 native black chickens were sold out within a week, bringing great hope for economic development for members of the Farmers' Association of Muong Long commune. This is also the initial success of the Branch - Professional Association model that the Farmers' Association of Ky Son district is implementing.
Farmers' joy
Since receiving support from the Farmers' Association at all levels with 350 native black chickens to build a model of Branch - Professional Association, Mr. Vu Tong Bo and his wife in Muong Long commune have been very happy.
Every day, his family members take care of the chickens with hope. Mr. Vu Tong Po's family, along with two other families, Lau Ba Tu and Lau Ba Xeng, in Muong Long 1 Farmers' Association - Muong Long commune, were invested in and directed by the Provincial and Ky Son District Farmers' Association to establish a professional black chicken raising group under Muong Long 1 Farmers' Association - Muong Long commune, Ky Son.
This is the first Professional Farmers Association in Ky Son district. The scale of the Professional Farmers Association for raising black chickens initially had 6 members participating, the scale of the black chicken flocks of 3 households was over 1,000 chickens.

Chosen as one of the first households to benefit from joining the Black Chicken Farmer Association at Muong Long 1 Branch, Mr. Vu Tong Po shared: Almost every Mong household raises free-range chickens, but they mainly raise a few to a few dozen chickens to improve their lives. As for large-scale commercial farming, household groups, and professional groups, no one has ever thought of it before.
After being oriented, directed and guided by the Farmers' Association at the provincial, district and Muong Long commune levels to establish a professional Farmers' Association for raising black chickens for participating households, especially oriented activities, his family received great benefits.
However, since joining the group, the households have learned to connect with each other and agree on the way of doing things among the households in the group. If only one person goes to buy medicine and chicken feed at one facility, the price will be cheaper, saving labor; preventing diseases at the same time will be more effective.
“Especially when we join the Professional Farmers Association, the scale of production will be expanded, productivity and product value will be increased; the market will be open. For example, at present, our Black Chicken Farmer Association, if it is time to sell chickens, even hundreds or thousands of black chickens will be sold out in a week. Many individuals, organizations, and businesses come to the farm to buy black chickens, but there are not enough chickens to sell to the market. With this approach, our farmers will soon escape poverty,” Mr. Po happily said.

In Ky Son district, the Farmers' Association chose to establish a Black Chicken Farmer's Association in Muong Long commune as a starting point. The group consists of 3 households with 6 members. The group has invested in 2 incubators with a capacity of 1,200 eggs/time; the total flock of black chickens in the group is over 1,000, bringing the income of chicken raising households to 60 - 100 million VND/year.
