These days, the name Tung Yuki is mentioned a lot with the statement "if I die, I hope no one will know". This makes many people emotional because he has always been known as a dedicated actor, a bodyguard respected by the entire Vietnamese showbiz.

Tung Yuki's real name is Nguyen Van Tung, he was born into a poor family of 5 children in Gia Lai. Since childhood, he studied Wing Chun. Tung Yuki said he likes Bruce Lee's philosophy of "Soft as water". Like when people come, you pick them up, when they go, you send them off. Water is very gentle but can wear away stone.
Later, he moved to Ho Chi Minh City. Alone in a strange land, with no money, no acquaintances, no connections, Tung Yuki just worked and studied. Yet he has been attached to Saigon for nearly 40 years.
Initially, he took a technical class and worked as a mechanic for a while, but eventually his life took a different turn. The audience knew Tung Yuki as a television actor. But in reality, his main job was as a bodyguard. Because he was good at martial arts since childhood, in order to have money to pay for vocational school tuition, he took advantage of his free time to work for a security company.

Talking about his job, Tung Yuki often chooses a gentle approach and believes that in this profession, physical violence is the most dangerous. "The fist is wrapped in velvet", that is Tung Yuki's motto. Whenever there is trouble in his career, he will choose a gentle approach rather than prioritizing physical violence. Chivalry is in his blood, so when he sees something disagreeable on the street, he does not fight but stops and says: "That is not good". Once, when he saw two cars collide and jumped in to fight, he just said: "That's enough" and they stopped.
Living quietly and discreetly, few people know that Tung Yuki is currently the "big boss" of a bodyguard company, managing more than 2,500 employees. Tung Yuki is especially trusted by artists, famous stars, and billionaires at home and abroad and chosen as a bodyguard to directly accompany him in major programs. In showbiz, Tung Yuki is also known as "My Tam's father". Originating from the years he worked as a close bodyguard of the "brown-haired nightingale". The female singer also affirmed that "only Tung's father is close and safe enough for My Tam to rely on and hold on to when going to crowded places". Even in the movie "My Assistant" which she herself produced and directed, My Tam also invited Tung Yuki to play the role of her father.

40 years old, first acting role
Tung Yuki never thought he would pursue acting because he was shy and quiet as a child. When he was in school, he never participated in any art or music activities. However, it was his job as a bodyguard that led him to art.
After many years in the profession, knowing many people in the Vietnamese showbiz world, everyone loves and respects Tung Yuki. Realizing that he has the qualities to be an actor, directors invited Tung Yuki to cast for a TV series. In 2004, Tung Yuki starred in the film "Doc Tinh" by director Luu Trong Ninh with Tang Thanh Ha, Kim Hien, Nguyet Anh, Huy Khanh. In this work, Tung Yuki plays the role of "Mr. Danh" - a man with many love troubles.

Next, Tung Yuki participated in more films such as “Suddenly Want to Cry”, “Just Go and Cry”, “Happy House”, “Secret of the Golden Triangle”, “Steel Instinct”. "The bodyguard profession helps me earn a living and take care of my family, but art is where I live another life, where I find joy and comfort when I am tired at the bodyguard company. To be more precise, the two professions complement each other, not conflict. I think I will follow this profession until my fate is over," he confided.
Coming from a poor family, Tung Yuki understands better than anyone the hardships of the poor. That makes him cherish life and what he has. From nothing, until now, he has everything, which in the eyes of others is: enough money and fame. But for Tung Yuki, the most important thing is that he has a happy family, is loved by his teammates and friends, and is also loved by strangers. "That is more than enough. I have no other dream. I can overcome all sacrifices, if at some point I have to fight between the right and the wrong, even if I die for the right, I will still be happy and not afraid anymore, because I have experienced a lot," he confided.
Having been a bodyguard for decades, a job with many risks and dangers, he always maintained a calm and peaceful attitude: "I still tell my friends: Bury me wherever you lie. My last wish in life is that I don't want anyone to know I'm dead, just cremate me and that's it. Half of it will be thrown into the Saigon River, and the other half will be brought back to my hometown river."
