The child’s family said that on the morning of July 10, 2019, Bang was taken by relatives to get the second ComBE Five vaccination and to get the polio vaccine. He played well all day.
That night, the parents saw that the child had a fever, so they measured the temperature and found it was 38.5 degrees Celsius, so they gave him fish mint leaves and put a fever-reducing bandage on his forehead. After that, the child slept and showed no symptoms. On the morning of July 11, the mother continued to breastfeed the child. Later, when the mother went to the bathroom, she saw that the child was purple and convulsing, so the family quickly took the child to Tan Ky District Medical Center. Here, the doctors and nurses received and examined the child and said that he had died.
Currently, Tan Ky district police are coordinating with the commune government and the district Medical Center to investigate and clarify the cause of the above incident.
It is known that Bang had previously been vaccinated many times (according to the vaccination schedule) but showed no unusual symptoms.
Leaders of Nghe An Department of Health said they have set up a working group to go to Nghia Dung commune, Tan Ky district to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
