How to avoid losing your Facebook and Zalo accounts when changing your phone number to 11

The "golden" time to add a new mobile number?

According to the plan of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the conversion of mobile subscriber numbers will start from September 15, 2018 and end on June 30, 2019. When converting, network operators will have to dial in parallel (maintaining both old and new numbers) from September 15, 2018 to November 14, 2018. That means there are about 2 months for users to change all information on social network accounts and OTT accounts.

Therefore, starting from September 15th onwards is the best time to change the information about mobile numbers on internet accounts because the user's 11-digit mobile subscription will be dialed in parallel with the old and new numbers. When changing, the subscription number will receive an OTP code on both numbers and help the update to be successful.

Please note, the parallel dialing is only until 14/11/2018, so changes must be made before then.

Change mobile number on Zalo and Viber

From September 15, users can change the mobile number for their Zalo account to ensure continuous communication.

Specifically, access Zalo, select the settings function > select account and security > Change phone number > Enter new password and phone number.

Similar to Zalo, the OTT Viber application also changes in settings > Account > Change phone number and enter the new phone number > Viber will send a verification code to the phone and the user will enter it to complete the setup.

Change new mobile number on Facebook

Facebook is quite similar to OTT applications, users will access the settings section > Mobile (on the left side of the screen) > Delete from account > Update new phone number. Facebook will send a confirmation code via text message and users enter the above code to activate the new number.
