Nghe An provincial leaders visit and celebrate traditional Bunpimay New Year in Laos
(Baonghean.vn) - From April 5 to 7, on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year of the Lao ethnic people, Nghe An province organized 2 delegations to visit and congratulate the Party Committee, Government and People of the provinces of the neighboring country that have a border and traditional relations with Nghe An.
The first delegation led by comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and extended New Year greetings to the three Lao provinces that border the border, namely Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang and Bolikhamxay, and have a close traditional cooperative relationship with Nghe An province.
The second delegation led by comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs visited and extended New Year greetings to three Lao provinces, Khammouane, Xay Som Bun and Sa Van Na Khet, which have a close traditional cooperative relationship with Nghe An province.
Also participating in the working delegations were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Border Guard Command.
Welcoming the delegations, on the side of the neighboring provinces, there were the Secretaries, Provincial Governors, representatives of the Provincial Government Committee and relevant departments, branches and sectors.

During the visit, on behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province, the heads of the delegation sent best wishes to the Party Committee, Government and People of the 6 provinces on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year.
The leaders of the provinces of Hua Phan, Xieng Khouang, Bolykhamxay, Kham Muon, Xay Som Bun and Sa Van Na Khet sent their sincere thanks for the special affection that the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An have given to the Party Committee, Government, cadres, soldiers and people of Lao ethnic groups in the provinces during the past time.

Leaders of Nghe An province and other provinces of Laos also expressed their joy at the friendship and cooperation that have been constantly strengthened and developed, which is a priceless asset for present and future generations; contributing significantly to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos in general "forever green, forever sustainable".

At the working sessions, Nghe An province and the provinces of Laos also discussed some important contents on the socio-economic situation of each province in 2021 and the first months of 2022; at the same time, they reviewed the results achieved in the cooperation relationship in many fields between the two sides over the past time.
Especially in coordinating the implementation of specific cooperation activities in the fields of border management and protection, border gate development, border trade; coordinating and supporting socio-economic development, human resource training, Covid-19 prevention and control; and searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

Leaders of Nghe An province and other provinces of Laos affirmed that they will continue to promote closer cooperation in all fields to help and support each other in the socio-economic development of each side, as well as to contribute to nurturing the "forever green, forever sustainable" friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

2022 is an even year with many major events between Vietnam and Laos, especially two major events: the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
On January 8, in Hanoi, on behalf of the senior leaders of Vietnam and Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh officially launched the "Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022".
These activities will build understanding and raise awareness among all walks of life about the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
