Provincial leaders criticize Vinh city for 10-year unfinished road
(Baonghean.vn) - Inspecting the site clearance and construction of the 72m road on the morning of March 21, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, criticized Vinh city and the investor for the delay, causing the road to remain unopened for more than 10 years.
The 72m road from National Highway 1A, Quan Bau intersection to Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Avenue started construction on December 26, 2006. The total investment has been adjusted 3 times with an investment value of 264 billion VND. Of which: Construction cost 75,639,000,000 VND, Project management cost 1,154,000,000 VND, Compensation for site clearance 175,609,000,000 VND... Currently, the contractor has completed the compensated land, but the un-cleared land is still at a standstill.

According to the investor's report, there are currently 6 households that have approved the compensation plan for site clearance but have not agreed to the resettlement plan, 3 households at the intersection with Xo Viet Nghe Tinh street are waiting for the land use plan, 2 households with agricultural land, 2 households with garden land interspersed in the residential area are petitioning about the compensation price for the land. In addition, there is 1 household that is obstructing the construction.
At the meeting, the contractor also committed to construct within 5 months if the site is handed over.
The province has held many meetings on this route, but after more than 10 years, it is still "standing still". After inspecting the actual situation and discussing solutions, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee criticized Vinh city, especially the investor, for lacking coordination to ensure the necessary procedures, causing the route to be behind schedule, affecting the opening of the entire route. There are cases where enforcement is needed but enforcement has not been carried out.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien requested Vinh City to coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to soon complete the approval of the land use plan related to the project, and at the same time quickly complete the land compensation plan for households that have to relocate their houses. The city must complete the site clearance work by April 30 and the investor must open this road by August 30.
