On June 16, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District, confirmed that a Taiwanese worker had recently died in a work accident in the area.
According to the victim's family, on the afternoon of June 12, while working at a construction site in Taiwan, Phan Ba Thang (born in 1995), residing in Hamlet 5, Cat Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District, unfortunately fell from the 3rd floor scaffolding to the ground.

Thang was immediately taken to the hospital by local people and authorities for emergency treatment, but the victim did not survive. Phan Ba Thang's body is currently at a morgue in Taiwan.
It is known that Thang's family situation is extremely difficult. At the end of 2016, to make a living, Thang discussed with his parents to borrow 80 million to go work abroad. Before he could pay off the bank debt, he had a fatal accident.
Upon receiving the news of his son's death, Mr. Phan Ba Hung (Thang's father) suffered a mental breakdown, high blood pressure and had to seek care from relatives and doctors.
Thang's mother was often sick and lying unconscious in bed. His younger brother, Phan Ba Thin (born in 2000), was preparing for his high school graduation exam but was also busy with the paperwork to bring his body back to his hometown for burial.
The cost of going to Taiwan to bring Thang's body back to his hometown is a large sum of money for Mr. Hung's extended family, so the family is in dire need of help from the community.
