Previously, using professional measures, the Cyber ​​Security and PCTP Department used high technology to detect tens of thousands of Facebook accounts posting the same content that could provide 100% accurate lottery numbers.

Determining that this is a sophisticated method of fraud to appropriate assets, the subjects have information technology skills, the scope of activities is wide across the country and there is a close connection between the subjects, the amount of money appropriated from the victims is large, under the drastic direction of the Board of Directors of Ha Nam Provincial Police, the Department of Cyber ​​Security and Anti-Crime using high technology has focused on verifying and fighting to clarify.

As a result, after more than a month, on March 28, the Cyber ​​Security and Anti-Crime Department used high technology in coordination with the Criminal Police Department to arrest a group of 12 subjects led by Nguyen Van Minh (born in 1995), residing in Ngo Xa village, Tan Phuong commune, Ung Hoa district, Hanoi city.

During the investigation, the subjects confessed to using software to edit Zalo messaging times to create images that provided lottery numbers to players according to the Northern or Southern lottery results.

To attract more people, the group rented 4 apartments to place 169 computers running continuously 24/7 and used more than 70,000 Facebook accounts to post hundreds of thousands of advertisements with content providing 100% accurate lottery numbers to scam people.

When the person transferring money buys lottery numbers, the subjects will give random numbers, then block the phone numbers and Zalo of the victims to appropriate the transferred money. With this trick, they have appropriated more than 3 billion VND from thousands of victims nationwide./.
