"I just saw the car wobble, then there were loud bangs, broken glass flying all over the car. People sitting in the front and right side of the car were injured, crying for help," said a lucky passenger who was not injured, adding that most of the people on the car were returning to their hometown in Soc Trang for Tet.

People living on both sides of the road rushed out and broke the car windows to save people. 20 people were injured, many of them seriously, and were taken to Ba Ria Hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the front and right side windows of the car were shattered, and one wheel was thrown out. Luggage and many Tet gift bags of passengers were damaged.
