The 60th anniversary of the establishment of Ha Giang Newspaper and the publication of its first issue

From Ha Giang province, there were comrades: Nguyen Manh Dung, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Quang Minh, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission; Tran Manh Loi, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; former leaders of the province, leaders of Ha Tuyen Newspaper, Ha Giang Newspaper through the periods; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Ha Giang province; leaders of Central and local Party Newspapers.

At the ceremony, Ha Giang journalists and delegates reviewed the glorious 60-year tradition of Ha Giang Newspaper. On April 13, 1964, the Standing Committee of Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee met and officially resolved to establish Ha Giang Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee.

Since its inception, despite numerous difficulties and shortages, Ha Giang Newspaper has affirmed its pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of a Party newspaper, actively propagating and encouraging cadres, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups in the area to well implement the policies of the Party and the State in general, and directives, resolutions, programs, and plans of the Party Committee and the provincial government in particular; actively fighting and criticizing negative manifestations, contributing to building a new cultural life; promptly discovering and praising typical advanced examples, initiatives, and good practices in labor production emulation movements.

In particular, Ha Giang Newspaper has made an important contribution in encouraging and mobilizing human and material resources to join the whole country in achieving victory in the war against American imperialism, liberating the South and unifying the country, and the fight to protect the northern border of the Fatherland. Generations of leaders, reporters, editors, and technical staff of Ha Giang Newspaper over the years have always demonstrated steadfast political will, solidarity, cultivated ethics and expertise, overcome difficulties and challenges, and have been dedicated and responsible, fulfilling the mission of "pen-holding soldiers" of the Party...

The history of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces had a period of merging into Ha Tuyen province and then splitting into Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces in October 1991. The splitting was to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in each specific period and along with that process, Ha Giang Newspaper was also merged with Tuyen Quang Newspaper to form Ha Tuyen Newspaper, then re-established as Ha Giang Newspaper. With responsibility before the Party, State and people, Ha Giang journalists always dedicate themselves tirelessly with the spirit of "sharp pen, bright mind, pure heart", trusted and loved by the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province.

After re-establishment, along with the whole country, Ha Giang province has carried out the process of innovation, integration and made strong development steps. Up to now, Ha Giang province has been known by the whole country and international friends as a province with sustainable and unique tourism development; with many typical agricultural products; with a diverse and rich culture... Domestic and international tourists and investors are increasingly coming to Ha Giang, creating new opportunities for Ha Giang in socio-economic development, improving people's lives. The entire political system and ethnic people in the province are striving to compete to successfully implement the leadership resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee. To meet the requirements of the province's political tasks, Ha Giang Newspaper has also continuously innovated and strongly developed according to the trend of modern journalism; built a team of professional journalists with deep expertise, good professional ethics, good social ethics, strong political will, and a firm grasp of tasks in each specific period and time. Ha Giang Newspaper has now actively applied information technology, carried out digital transformation, created new and effective working methods; diversified and improved the quality of propaganda channels (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, fanpages) with increasingly rich and attractive content, attracting more and more readers, viewers and listeners; thereby, successfully completing assigned tasks.

In recent times, Ha Giang Newspaper has stepped up propaganda work on Party building, fighting against wrong and hostile viewpoints, negative and degraded manifestations; stepped up propaganda on the organization and implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's specialized resolutions in the fields of economy, culture and society; actively participated in press awards organized by the central and provincial governments and won awards such as: National Press Award on Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award), Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels (Dien Hong Award), Press Award on protecting the Party's ideological foundation...

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh acknowledged, congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements and important contributions of Ha Giang Newspaper in the past time, actively contributing to the overall development of the Party newspaper system nationwide. Over the past 60 years, along with the press nationwide, Ha Giang Newspaper with its mettle, intelligence, spirit of innovation and constant creativity, has affirmed its important position on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, worthy of the trust of local Party committees, authorities, people and the press public.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized: Faced with opportunities and challenges, Ha Giang Newspaper needs to quickly innovate to continue affirming its position, including paying attention to improving the quality of journalistic works; competing with the press nationwide to make efforts and actively transform digitally to keep up with the development trend of journalism; promoting the production of works and types of journalism in a multimedia direction to meet the requirements of the task.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh also requested Ha Giang Newspaper to continue to innovate and further improve the quality of publications, increase the application of modern journalism methods, new journalism technology, attractive and oriented information, proactively seek out readers, and bring information, especially in-depth information, to readers.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Dung acknowledged and congratulated the new developments of Ha Giang Newspaper over the past 60 years; at the same time, he believed in the working spirit, determination to innovate, integrate, and build an increasingly professional, modern press agency, keeping up with the development trend of the collective leadership, reporters, and editors of Ha Giang Newspaper today.

Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Manh Dung emphasized: The Resolution of the 17th Ha Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 sets the goal of striving by 2030 - Ha Giang is a fairly developed, comprehensive and sustainable province in the Northern midland and mountainous region, with a green and sustainable economic development based on promoting digital transformation, applying science, technology and innovation; by 2050 - Ha Giang is a fairly developed province of the whole country, in the direction of green, identity, sustainability and comprehensiveness. To continue to meet the new requirements, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the collective leadership of Ha Giang Newspaper to continue promoting the precious tradition of Ha Giang Newspaper over the past 60 years, focusing on building a united and unified Party cell and agency; improving the quality of Party cell activities, the quality of Party members, and improving the leadership capacity of the Party cell in organizing and implementing assigned tasks.

Continue to promote propaganda and encourage all sectors, levels, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups to effectively implement the directives and resolutions of the Party Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee; actively discover, propagate and disseminate advanced models, good and creative practices in the process of organizing and implementing resolutions of sectors and levels. Promote propaganda on studying and following the moral example and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh; propagate Party building; fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, protect the Party's ideological foundation; criticize negative manifestations and bad customs in social life.

Play well the role of the Party's press agency, promptly provide information capable of orienting and leading public opinion, creating social consensus, especially in the current situation where information on social networks is creating extremely complex problems.

Regularly train, foster, and build a team of reporters, editors, and technicians who are increasingly proficient in their profession, have strong political will, good professional ethics, good social ethics, and foreign language proficiency... to meet the increasingly modern and highly integrated requirements of journalism. Continue to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation, creating a strong change in the methods and thinking of journalism, increasing the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda.

Further strengthen coordination with central press agencies and press agencies of neighboring provinces, thereby learning and improving journalism skills; exchanging and supporting the dissemination of information in the province to the whole country and internationally.

Actively direct, facilitate and encourage the team of reporters and editors of Ha Giang Newspaper to participate in more press awards organized by the central and provincial levels, thereby helping to improve the professional expertise of reporters and editors and the quality of press works.

Based on the criteria set forth by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Ha Giang Newspaper continues to do well in building a cultural press agency and cultural journalists, contributing to building an increasingly professional, humane and modern Vietnamese revolutionary press.

At the ceremony, Ha Giang Newspaper was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Emulation Flag of the Cluster; many collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Editorial Board of Ha Giang Newspaper.
