Longevity celebration for nearly 1,000 elderly people in Ho Chi Minh City

(Baonghean.vn) - At the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Hall, a longevity celebration and health care ceremony was held for nearly 1,000 elderly people in districts of Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony was jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society and the Ho Chi Minh City Elderly Health Care and Consulting Center. Vinamilk is the co-organizer and sponsor of the program.

The longevity celebration for 28 elderly men and women was held solemnly and meaningfully.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons, and at the same time aims to "provide health care for 1 million Vietnamese patients and elderly people" by 2018.

In addition to useful activities such as measuring bone density and providing health care information for the elderly, another activity of great significance was held. The longevity celebration for 28 elderly men and women was held with the joy shared with nearly 1,000 attendees in the stands. On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan sent flowers to congratulate the longevity celebration of the elderly as well as honor the position and role of the elderly on the International Day of Older Persons.

The program was followed by a seminar on health care and nutrition for the elderly with the consultation of Dr. Le Kim Hue from the Ho Chi Minh City Nutrition Center.
