Ceremony to send off Vietnam women's football team to attend World Cup 2023
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 4, in Hanoi, the departure ceremony of the Vietnam Women's Team to attend the 2023 World Cup took place.
Speaking at the departure ceremony, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) - Tran Quoc Tuan said: "This is a historic achievement when appearing for the first time in the World Cup finals. The female players overcame countless difficulties during the preparation and competition process. At times, almost the whole team contracted Covid-19 but overcame it to win.

In preparation for the World Cup, VFF has helped the Vietnamese women's team have very serious training sessions in Japan and Germany. Before the team leaves, I wish our girls a successful tournament, leaving the best image to the world's friends and fans.

Meanwhile, coach Mai Duc Chung shared: ''This is a long journey for the Vietnamese women's team. We have been waiting for this day for a long time. The players are all ready to go to the World Cup''.
Striker Huynh Nhu expressed her determination: ''This is not only my dream, but also the dream of the whole team, of Vietnamese women's football. Glory comes with great responsibility and trust from fans. This is the most meaningful thing that the Vietnamese women's team has done, bringing Vietnamese women's football to the world. The players and I promise to bring back the best things''.

Previously, during a meeting to encourage and assign tasks to the Vietnamese women's team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told coach Mai Duc Chung and the players to do their best, showing their bravery, spirit and will in their first time on the world stage.
"Once you go, you have to hope to win, but don't let the pressure weigh you down because of the results. We win against ourselves, win because of the noble sportsmanship, for the flag, for the love of the fans," the Prime Minister emphasized.
