Due to continuous leaking of exam questions, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a telegram to strengthen security for the 2023 high school graduation exam.
The Minister of Education and Training has just sent an official dispatch on strengthening measures to ensure security and safety for the 2023 high school graduation exam to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities.
June 28,high school graduation exam 2023was organized with 2 exams: Literature and Math. The Minister of Education and Training informed that although the risk of using high technology to cheat on exams has been predicted, stated in the Ministry's directives and instructions and is one of the key training contents, there are still candidates who intentionally use high-tech devices to transfer exam questions outside.
Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training requests the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to thoroughly instruct the Provincial Steering Committee to focus on directing the Examination Councils to urgently carry out a number of tasks. Specifically, the Examination Councils direct the heads of examination sites to increase dissemination and remind candidates to strictly follow the examination regulations.
The Examination Councils must also require invigilators, examination room supervisors and forces participating in organizing the examination to concentrate highly and apply the knowledge and skills they have been trained in to prevent violations of examination regulations, especially the use of technological devices to cheat on exams.
The examination council promptly reports to competent authorities to handle violations according to regulations, and at the same time, continues to strengthen coordination with security forces to take measures to ensure exam security and safety, especially preventing and stopping the use of high technology to violate exam regulations.
In addition, the Examination Councils need to proactively provide information to the press about the progress of the exam, the handling of violations of regulations and unusual situations for timely propaganda, warning and deterrence.
As VietNamNet reported, the Literature and Math exams on the first day of the 2023 high school graduation exam received complaints that questions were leaked while candidates were taking the exam.
Regarding the suspected leak of the Literature exam for high school graduation, the Ministry of Education and Training admitted that the exam appeared online at around 8am, just 30 minutes after the candidates started taking the test.
Regarding the suspicion of leaked math exam questions, the National Examination Steering Committee has grasped the information and transferred it to the Internal Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security to verify, clarify and handle according to regulations. The Ministry of Education and Training also said that this information currently does not affect the exam.
Speaking with VietNamNet, a representative of the Internal Political Security Department (A03), Ministry of Public Security, confirmed that the leak of the Literature and Math exam questions came from candidates in Cao Bang and Yen Bai.
The agency also added that the exam leak incidents in Cao Bang and Yen Bai were both violations of the same type, which was using devices to take photos and send exam papers outside during the exam period.
On the afternoon of June 28, Mr. Vu Van Duong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Cao Bang province, also said that according to the investigation results of the authorities, a candidate in the province was involved in leaking the Literature exam questions of the 2023 high school graduation exam.
“This afternoon, June 28, at the police station, this candidate also admitted to what he did. He brought his phone into the exam room and then used it. About 20 minutes after the exam papers were distributed, the candidate used his phone to take a photo of the exam papers and sent it to a relative or tutor, asking for help solving the questions. After doing so, the candidate deleted the original message. However, there was no leaking of the answers, so the results have not been affected in any way,” said Mr. Duong.
Mr. Duong added that this candidate is a student of Cao Bang High School. This candidate has been suspended from the exam according to the regulations and will not continue to participate in tomorrow's exams.
Regarding the two exam supervisors, Mr. Duong said that the Examination Council has also stopped their duties and arranged for two backup exam supervisors to replace them./.
