    The General's coffin walked slowly on Hoang Van Thu Street, lingered for about 10 seconds when it reached the gate of Military Region 7, then continued moving on Nguyen Van Troi Street.

    Heavy rain in Saigon. Security around Military Region 7 on Hoang Van Thu Street (Tan Binh District) is tightened. Nearby roads and roads leading to Tan Son Nhat Airport such as Phan Dinh Giot, Tran Quoc Hoan, Truong Son, Nguyen Van Troi, Hoang Van Thu... all have security forces.

    The authorities will block the intersections when the group travels along the above route to ensure order and traffic safety. Former President, General Le Duc Anh passed away at 8:10 p.m. on April 22 at his home at 5A Hoang Dieu, Hanoi, at the age of 99.

He is one of the few people whose career is associated with many revolutionary periods, holding many important positions in the Resistance Wars against French colonialism, against American imperialism, and the war to protect the Southwestern border and the Northern border.

This morning, the funeral of former President, General Le Duc Anh took place at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi), Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC) and the Hall of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province.

After the funeral, the coffin of the late President Le Duc Anh was taken from the National Funeral Home, past the official residence where he used to live (5A Hoang Dieu), the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, then to Noi Bai Airport to Ho Chi Minh City. In Ho Chi Minh City, the coffin will pass through Military Region 7, where he used to be the Commander and Political Commissar of the Military Region, and pass his private residence at 240 Pasteur before arriving at the Ho Chi Minh City cemetery.

Mr. Le Manh Ha, son of General Le Duc Anh, said that the family's wish is to hold a simple one-day state funeral. The family also hopes that other social activities will continue as normal, without being disrupted.
