Since entering 2017, Liverpool's form has been disastrous. Coach Jurgen Klopp and his team have played 11 matches and won only two. The shocking loss to Hull City has put the Anfield team at risk of losing fourth place in the Premier League table because they currently have 46 points like Man City but have played one more match.
Hull City turned the KCOM Stadium into a nightmare for Liverpool. This was the third consecutive time that the team made The Kop leave as the loser. In particular, the victory on February 4 helped "The Tigers" escape the last position on the Premier League table, lighting up the hope of successful relegation.
The man writing the fairy tale at Hull City is Marco Silva, the coach appointed to replace Mike Phelan in early 2017. The strategist only started coaching since 2011 and is helping the "Tigers" transform with their fourth consecutive home win.
Marco Silva's signature weapon is the defensive counter-attacking style. Welcoming Liverpool, Hull City deployed this style of play very effectively, despite the absence of captain Michael Dawson due to injury.

Hull City's defense system worked tightly and effectively, completely silencing the attack that had scored the most goals in the Premier League in the previous 23 rounds (52 goals). Meanwhile, on the attack line, coach Marco Silva's strikers knew how to shine at the right time in decisive moments. In the 44th minute, from a corner kick, causing a chaotic situation, N'Diaye scored the opening goal on his debut day with the new team when he moved to KCOM on loan from Villarreal.
In the second half, Liverpool focused on attacking. This made it easier for Hull City to deploy their defensive counter-attacking style of play. After many missed opportunities, in the 84th minute, the home team finally scored a second goal, ending Jurgen Klopp and his team's hopes of scoring points. Stealing the ball from Sadio Mane near the home penalty area, Ranocchia sent a long pass for Oumar Niasse to run down and finish between the legs of goalkeeper Mignolet.set the score 2-0.
In addition to playing poorly, Liverpool also lost the match due to the referee's wrong decisions. During the match, coach Jurgen Klopp's players twice kicked the ball into the hands of Hull City defenders in the penalty area but referee Lee Mason did not award them a penalty.
