This plant has a very bad name but is extremely effective in treating sinusitis and nasal allergies.
Despite its "unpleasant" name, the pigweed plant is a valuable medicinal herb in the treatment of sinusitis and nasal allergies.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Bich Dao, senior lecturer of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Hanoi Medical University, the pigweed plant has blue or purple flowers and black fruit. The plant often grows wild in bushes along the roadside, distributed mainly in the mountainous plains and the northern delta.
The plant can live and grow in all weather conditions. The most valuable parts of the pigweed plant are the roots and leaves, both fresh and dried can be used to make medicine.
To treat sinusitis and nasal allergies, use fresh pigweed, wash it with salt, then crush it to get the juice. Use a cotton ball soaked in the pigweed juice mixture and wipe it on the painful side of the nose.
Currently, the remedy for allergic sinusitis using pigweed flowers is widely used in production. You can prepare many pigweed flowers and store them in the refrigerator, about 4-5 times a day.

In Vietnam, sinusitis occurs in 15-20% of the population. The disease is triggered by the influence of climate, environment, humidity, living conditions, and the sensitivity of the body and often recurs.
Treatment usually lasts 3-6 months, some people even have to be treated continuously for many years with expensive Western medicine.
Currently, traditional medicine believes that sinusitis is caused by external pathogens such as wind-cold, wind-heat, or cold-heat after being exposed to rain or cold wind in an air-conditioned room.
In addition to the remedy for sinusitis and allergic rhinitis, the pigweed plant is also used to treat postpartum hemorrhage in women. Women should prepare about 30g of fresh pigweed, wash it, crush it, squeeze out the juice and drink it during the day. Use it consistently for about a week to see results.
This plant is also used to treat sore throats. In addition to the main ingredient, this remedy for sore throats also includes other herbs such as licorice, honeysuckle, and fan palm leaves. Prepare the above ingredients and then boil them with water. Drink 2-3 times a day.
Pigweed is also used to prevent stomach and cervical cancer. Prepare 20g of pigweed, 30g of Chinese clematis, 30g of Chinese clematis, 30g of Chinese clematis, 30g of Chinese clematis, and 30g of Chinese clematis. Put all the above ingredients in a mortar and pound, then add 15ml of horsetail water. Remove the residue and drink after meals twice a day.
To treat burns or skin ulcers, wash the pigweed, then mix it with a little brown rice and salt. Grind this mixture into a fine powder, wrap it in a clean cloth and apply it directly to the burned skin.
