Floods inundate Hieu River, threatening people and vehicles
(Baonghean.vn) - On the night of September 4, heavy rain in the upper reaches of Que Phong caused the water level of the Hieu River to rise. The overflow of the Hieu River on Highway 48E, Nghia Thinh Commune, Nghia Dan District, the water level rose nearly 1 meter, the water flowed rapidly, threatening people and vehicles passing by.

Mr. Phan Van Ti, Deputy Director of Nghe An Bridge and Road Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, said: The company has directed the Traffic Department of Quy Hop district from 6:00 a.m. on September 5 to use barriers on both banks to prohibit people and vehicles from passing.

Quy Hop Traffic Department assigned 4 workers to coordinate with local authorities of Nghia Thinh commune to be on duty 24/7, absolutely not allowing people and vehicles to pass through, even using boats and rafts is strictly prohibited.
Workers guide people to avoid the Hieu River overflow and take other detours to Thai Hoa town. It is expected that in about 2 days, when the water recedes, the Quy Hop Traffic Department will remove the barriers so that people and vehicles can pass normally.
