Tricked into selling "girlfriend" for money to spend

On February 15, the Criminal Police Department - Lang Son Provincial Police announced that it had issued an emergency arrest warrant for Ma Duy Tuan (born in 1982), residing in Dinh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, for human trafficking, and at the same time rescued two victims from across the border to return home safely.

Lang Son Provincial Police have investigated, verified and clarified the human trafficking behavior of Ma Duy Tuan. Previously, in 2007, Tuan deceived a girl and then lived as husband and wife. After gaining trust, he tricked his "girlfriend" into going to Tan Thanh border gate to work and earn money. Here, Tuan contacted a Vietnamese woman named Thuy who often traveled to Bang Tuong, China. He then raised the issue of selling his "girlfriend" to China for 8,000 yuan.

After successfully selling his “girlfriend”, Tuan continued to trick 6 Vietnamese women into selling them to China. While on the run, Tuan and Thuy were arrested by Chinese police and sentenced to 4 years in prison in China. After completing his sentence in China, Tuan recently returned to Vietnam and was arrested by Lang Son provincial police.
