(Baonghean.vn) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has "highlighted" the weaknesses of the West and "exposed" these countries as a mere theoretical concept - a historical relic far from current reality. This comment was made in an article published in the British magazine The Spectator.

“Putin has exposed the West as a kind of theoretical mechanism, a historical relic far removed from current reality. There are no longer two distinct worlds, East and West. Instead, Russia has different levels of economic and political interaction with each European and North American country,” the article said.

According to the author of the article, many countries are currently arguing about the Ukrainian crisis, which weakens Europe as a whole. In addition, the article notes, many of them have not yet been able to choose a clear path of interaction with Moscow, which is beneficial to Russia. "Putin's success lies in exposing the West's inability to agree on the direction of sanctions," the author writes.

According to the journalist, Russia's two main strengths are still its military and the country's President's diplomacy. The magazine also said that no force can stop President Putin from taking over Ukraine, and the world has seen it now. The journalist concluded that President Putin could leave after "exposing" the West's weakness and wondering how to exploit it.
