Checking the bag on the motorbike's rack, the police seized a total of 36,000 synthetic drug pills, 4 guns and 21 bullets.

After many days of monitoring and grasping the situation, at 5:00 a.m. on July 25, at Mo Tuoi village, Long Phieng commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, Yen Chau district police in coordination with Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station successfully broke up a major drug case, arresting 3 subjects who were illegally transporting drugs across the border.

The three arrested subjects include: Tenh Lao Dia, 30 years old, Tenh Trang Pao, 31 years old, Tenh Lao Vang, 27 years old, all residing in Mong Nam village, Mong Nam cluster, Xieng Kho district, Hua Phan province (Laos). The police force seized on the spot evidence including 36,000 synthetic drug pills, 4 military guns, 21 bullets of various types, including 2 loaded bullets; 2 motorbikes and many other related evidences.

At the police station, the subjects confessed to transporting the above drugs from the border area to Van Ho district, handing them over to a man, and if successful, they would be paid 2,000 USD (equivalent to more than 40 million VND).

To avoid detection by the authorities, the subjects assigned specific tasks to each of them. In particular, two subjects Pao and Vang went ahead on a motorbike to scout the way, if they discovered the authorities, they would notify Dia to escape.

Due to the careful planning, when the subjects entered the ambush, the authorities were able to control all three of them before they could inform each other. It is known that the subject, Tenh Lao Dia, is an English teacher at Mong Nam Secondary School, and Tenh Trang Pao is the Principal of Mong Nam Primary School.

Months ago, through the work of grasping the situation and information provided by the people, Yen Chau District Police discovered a group of subjects regularly traveling back and forth across the border area with many suspicious signs, with sophisticated tricks, frequently changing methods and routes of travel.

On July 24, after receiving information that the subjects would bring a large amount of "goods" across the border, the District Police mobilized over 30 officers and soldiers, coordinating with the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station to divide into many groups to ambush on the road from the Long Phieng border area to Ta Lang commune (the route the subjects would travel to transport drugs to Van Ho district).

After more than a day of ambush, despite heavy rain and rugged border terrain, the officers still persistently stuck to their positions, determined to capture the subject and the "huge" shipment.

As expected, at around 5am on July 25, two subjects who had been scouting the way on a motorbike appeared, ready to inform their accomplices if they encountered an "incident".

But they could not have imagined that the Yen Chau District Police detectives had calculated all possible bad situations and selected the most favorable location to capture the entire group. When the "goods-hugging" subject was arrested, he still did not understand why he did not receive a signal from his accomplices. Removing the bag placed on the motorbike's rack, the police force seized a total of 36,000 synthetic drug pills, 4 guns and 21 bullets, of which 2 were loaded.

Previously, at 6:00 p.m. on July 24, at Co Cham village, Long Luong commune, Van Ho district, Son La province, Van Ho district police discovered and arrested a subject transporting a large quantity of drugs, confiscating 13 heroin bars, and at 10:30 a.m. on July 25, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the provincial police arrested 3 subjects, confiscating 3,000 synthetic drug pills. Thus, within just 3 days, the functional forces of Son La provincial police successfully broke 4 major drug cases, seizing a large quantity of heroin and synthetic drugs, in which most of the subjects transporting drugs across the border were equipped with firearms.
