Marca: 'Ronaldo left out of Top 3 Ballon d'Or, Barca wins big'

The favorite newspaper of Real Madrid fans has just announced the surprising results of a public opinion poll about the 2015 Golden Ball race.

According to the poll results released on October 21, Messi leads with 26.8% of votes in favor of winning the Golden Ball.

The next two positions also belong to Barca players: Neymar (19.9%) and Luis Suarez (17.5%). This result means that Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid's best player and the winner of the Golden Ball two years ago, has to stay on the edge of the Top 3.

As the year drew to a close, Messi stood out with some outstanding performances as Barca won the treble. The striker not only scored two decisive goals against Bayern in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, but also made a big contribution in the final with three attacking moves that led to a 3-1 victory over Juventus. Messi, Suarez, Neymar and Ronaldo are all on the list of 23 candidates for the 2015 Ballon d'Or. The list will be narrowed down to three by the end of the year, before the awards ceremony takes place next January.
