Land conflict, brothers "fight to the death"

Due to a land dispute, the younger brother started a fight and beat and slashed his older brother. After causing the incident, the younger brother brought a knife to the police station to surrender.

On May 23, Hanoi Court brought Le Dai Quan (born in 1971, residing in Minh Khai ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi) to trial for murder.

There was a conflict over land between Quan and his family members. On July 19, 2016, Quan's mother had to go to Minh Khai Ward Police Station to report that Quan had threatened to kill his family members. The police drew up a report to deter and prevent Le Dai Quan from threatening to kill.

According to his brother, Quan is addicted to lottery and gambling. The defendant always wants to fight for land to sell and gamble.

But in the evening of the same day, a conflict arose between Quan and his brother, Le Truong Sinh (born in 1966). Sinh repeatedly kicked and pushed Quan, causing him to fall to the floor.

Immediately, Quan took a knife and slashed his brother twice in the head. When informed by her grandson, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuc - Quan's mother called for everyone to intervene.

Immediately afterwards, Quan brought the knife to Minh Khai Ward Police Station, Bac Tu Liem District, and surrendered.

According to Mr. Sinh, he was tired after work so he went to bed. While he was sleeping, he felt a sharp pain in his head. When he woke up, he saw Quan standing at the edge of the bed. Mr. Sinh grabbed the wall and sat up, saying: "What did I do that you killed me?"

Mr. Sinh rushed towards Quan, but Quan went up to the bed and said: "Let you die". Then Mr. Sinh hugged and pushed Quan to sit on the dining table, Quan continued to use a knife to repeatedly slash Mr. Sinh's head until he lost consciousness. According to the assessment, Mr. Sinh suffered 36% health damage.

In court, Mr. Sinh also said that he no longer had any feelings for Quan. In his eyes, Quan was an unfilial person who did not come home for his father's funeral and then beat his mother in the middle of the market.

According to Mr. Sinh, Quan is addicted to lottery and gambling. That is why the defendant always wants to fight for land to sell and gamble.

For the crime of murder with a gangster nature, Le Dai Quan was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Hanoi Court./.
