Russia's 5th generation stealth aircraft is about to complete testing
Russian news agency RIA Novosti has just quoted an announcement from the Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer that the test flight of the 5th generation aircraft PAK FA has entered the final stage and is about to be completed.
According to Sukhoi, a total of 700 flights of PAK FA prototypes (T-50 prototypes) have been carried out. During flight tests, the tactical and technical characteristics of PAK FA were approved by the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is expected that by 2020, the Russian Air Force will receive at least 55 PAK FAs.
The source also added that the industrial-scale production process of PAK FA will begin in 2018. Currently, the United Aircraft Corporation of Russia and 12 related factories have received orders from the Russian Ministry of Defense for the supply of components and will participate in the PAK assembly process from 2017.

In addition to the PAK FA version for the Russian Air Force, Sukhoi is also drafting the Future Multirole Fighter (PMI) project or the export version of the PAK FA for foreign countries. The first steps of the PMI project are the FGFA cooperation project between Russia and India to produce a two-seat fighter based on PAK FA technology.
The PAK FA fighter is designed to be classified as a 5th generation aircraft like the US F-22 and F-35. This fighter can fly at a maximum speed of 2,600 km/h, has a range of 4,300 km and a ceiling of 20 km. The PAK FA can carry 10 tons of weapons, including: a 30mm GSh-30-1 air cannon and bombs and guided missiles mounted on 8 hidden points in the fuselage and 10 hard points on the fuselage and wings. Along with the new aircraft, Russia will also launch a series of new aviation weapons corresponding to this 5th generation fighter.

The special feature of PAK FA is the active phased array radar system in the nose and on the wings. Combined with modern onboard electronic systems, PAK FA has a wide radar scanning angle and the ability to locate small flying targets, as well as applying stealth technology. E-pilot artificial intelligence technology allows to minimize aircraft control operations so that pilots can focus on combat missions. Military experts assess that PAK FA has many outstanding features compared to the 5th generation aircraft on the other side of the ocean, the F-35 Lightning II./.
