Mother works in the fields, father is a construction worker, raising 3 'super talented' children in the poor countryside of Thanh Chuong
(Baonghean.vn) - Two months before the university entrance exam, the father of Nguyen Van Hung - class 12A, Thanh Chuong 1 High School, went to the South to work as a construction worker to earn money for his son to go to school because he believed that his son would definitely pass.
As soon as we arrived at the entrance of Hamlet 1B, Thanh Phong Commune, asking for Hung's house, the locals immediately said "Are you looking for the house of Hung, a good student?" Through the quick stories told by the neighbors on the road, we felt admiration and pride for him, for a studious and studious farming family.
In the recent high school exam, Hung had a score of 27.85 for block A, including 9.6 for Math; 9.2 for Physics; and 9 for Chemistry. With this score, Hung became the student with the highest score for block A at Thanh Chuong 1 High School and the highest in Thanh Chuong district.

Valedictorian Nguyen Van Hung. |
According to Hung, the A-level exams this year were not too difficult and Physics was the “hardest” subject. When he was in school, Hung’s forte was Physics - his “favorite” subject that he had participated in many excellent student exams at all levels. However, Hung’s Physics score in the recent exam was lower than Math, the reason being “he got the easy questions wrong”.
Hung said that right after the exam, he no longer expected a score in Physics, so he was not surprised when he learned the result. From his own experience, the top student of the district school wanted to tell his fellow students to "Read the questions carefully and don't get the easy questions wrong."
“I study just like normal, when I go to school I pay attention to the teacher, when I get home I actively do my homework. Unlike many other “experts” who often go online to learn, improve their knowledge, collect new questions, and practice how to do exercises, I stay up late, wake up early, diligently “plow” through advanced books, and increase group study and communication with friends.”

The nickname “valedictorian of the district two no” comes from the fact that Hung does not use a personal phone and does not play social networks. “Explaining” these things, Hung said, “My family is poor so my parents do not let me buy a phone, I also do not use Facebook, I do not have the habit of going online to study, so I do not care much.” Hung also admitted that one of the downsides of not using a phone and social networks is that “when needed, others have difficulty contacting me.”
Hung is the youngest child in a farming family with 3 siblings. In addition to farming and raising livestock, Hung's parents also work as construction workers. What everyone in the village and commune admires about Hung's family is that despite their difficult family circumstances, all 3 Hung sisters are well-behaved, good at studying, and are a well-known studious family in the area. Hung's eldest sister, Nguyen Thi Hang, is in her 8th year at Hanoi Medical University (Resident Doctor), and the second sister, Nguyen Thi Hai, has just graduated from the People's Public Security University of Logistics and Engineering.

Besides studying, Hung also works hard to help his family. |
Hung was an excellent student from grade 1 to grade 12. During his high school years, Hung participated in many excellent student competitions at secondary schools in Math and Physics.
Hung has achieved a number of achievements such as: First prize in the district Physics competition in grade 8, Encouragement prize in the provincial Physics competition in grade 9, Second prize in the provincial Physics competition in grade 11...
For Hung’s family, not only do the children strive to study well, but Hung’s parents are also determined to overcome difficulties to raise their children. Perhaps knowing that Hung would be admitted to university, 2 months ago, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam – Hung’s father, went to the South to continue working as a construction worker to earn more money for Hung to go to school.
“Our family’s conditions are difficult, but my husband and I work hard to raise our children, hoping that they will pass exams and become good people. Luckily, all of our children can study, and if they can study, we have to support them. The family is very happy that Hung got high scores, but which school he goes to depends on him.”
The valedictorian of the district school “two no” was considered by his mother to be “shy” and not very bold in communication, and registered his first choice to study Computer Science at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. With the score he achieved, Hung’s dream of becoming a computer programmer is gradually becoming a reality.
