Lionel Messi was honoured with a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over PSV, with the Argentine striker opening the scoring via a direct free-kick. The winning goal was also scored with Messi's weaker right foot.

Alongside Messi, Nabil Fekir, Paul Pogba and James Milner are also nominated. Fekir scored a goal and assisted a goal as Lyon cruised to a 3-0 win over Man City. Pogba also bagged a brace and assisted in Man Utd's 3-0 win over Young Boys. Milner, meanwhile, scored a penalty to help Liverpool beat PSG 3-2.

Mbappe was proposed to be suspended for 5 matches for beating someone

Striker Kylian Mbappe was sent off in PSG's 4-2 win over Nimes. After being fouled by Savanier, Mbappe jumped up and pushed his opponent to the ground.

The unsavoury act has resulted in Mbappe being handed a three-match suspension. However, this could now be increased to five matches as Savanier's lawyer has requested an appeal and wants the 19-year-old star to be given a harsher punishment.

Mbappe recently went to the French Football Federation with his lawyer to present and express his desire to keep the penalty. The French Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee will make a final decision in the next few days.
