Where does fat go when you lose weight?
Many people believe that the excess fat lost when losing weight is converted into energy, but the truth is that it is converted into carbon dioxide and water.
According toIndependent, two researchers at the University of New South Wales, Professor Ruben Meerman and Andrew Brown, surveyed 150 doctors, nutritionists and personal trainers about where excess fat goes when the body loses weight.Only three of those surveyed answered correctly, concluding that fat is converted to carbon dioxide and water.
"The common misconception is that excess fat will be converted into energy. This violates the law of conservation of matter that all chemical reactions must obey," says Professor Andrew.Brown writes in the bookThe Conversation.

Professor Brown said,The lungs are the main excretory organs for weight loss.MExcess fat is converted into carbon dioxide and water. This carbon dioxide will escape from the body through the respiratory tract, while water will enter the body's circulation and be excreted through urine, sweat, and tears.or other liquid.
“If you lose 10kg of fat, exactly 8.4kg will escape through the lungs and 1.6kg will turn into water. In other words, most of the weight lost will come out through breathing,” he added.
If you want to lose weight, you should be more physically active because this is the wayonly for fat to be converted to carbon dioxide.
