A "unique" gift of gratitude to teachers from the Mong people of Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Bullfighting is a traditional festival activity that Mong people in Ky Son (Nghe An) always enthusiastically organize on holidays and Tet. To celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 this year, the people held a bullfighting festival as a gift of gratitude to teachers.

Traveling more than 72 km from the border commune of Na Ngoi, today Mr. Gia Giong Senh, Phu Kha 2 village, and his family's fighting bull arrived at block 4, Muong Xen town, waiting for the festival to start. Mr. Senh shared: Due to the long distance, his family had to take the fighting bull from early morning the day before to be in time to participate in today's bull fighting festival. This bull fighting festival has a special meaning as it is organized to show gratitude to teachers, so I am very excited to participate.

Mr. Mua Xia Lu, Head of the bullfighting festival's organizing committee, shared: In the past, when people's lives were still difficult, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, parents and students only had wild flowers, vegetables, and fruits from their home gardens to give to teachers.

In recent years, people's economic life has been increasingly developed, so teachers' day is more focused. Like this year, to celebrate the day, we organized a bull fighting festival, having fun with teachers.

Participating in the bull fighting festival to celebrate Teachers' Day this year were 54 bulls, divided into 27 pairs, these were the bulls selected by the organizing committee to participate. The bull fighting festival attracted hundreds of Ky Son people and tourists to cheer.
